This presentation will provide an overview of conventional lawn care, including environmental and health impacts, and explore the transition to a natural lawn care approach. The difference between truly 'organic' products and synthetic chemicals will be explained, and the necessary steps for a successful natural lawn care program will be demonstrated with case studies and display materials.

Senior Program Associate
Steve Pincuspy is a Senior Program Associate with Safer Pest Control Project and leads its Yards & Parks and Municipal programs. In 2008 he developed a Natural Lawn Care workshop that has trained over 240 Midwest landscape professionals. Steve is also closely involved with creating pesticide reduction strategies for the City of Chicago and several neighboring municipalities. He previously worked as an environmental consultant and spent several growing seasons working as a landscaper in the Chicago area. Steve has a Bachelor’s in Geography from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver.
